Privacy Policy

JE Connects ("JE Connects", "we", "us", or "our") operates a digital marketplace that helps people discover local businesses, purchase products, request competitive quotes for services, book appointments, arrange rides and courier deliveries, and more. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using any part of JE Connects, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with it, you should not use the platform.

We collect information you provide directly, information generated as you use the platform, and information from third parties (such as Google when you use Google Sign-In). The categories below describe the main types we handle.

• Registration details: your full name, email address, and password (stored as a hashed value, never in plain text).
• Profile information: profile photo, display name, phone number, and any details you choose to add to your customer or driver profile.
• Authentication records: sign-in events, one-time passcode (OTP) verification attempts, and session tokens used to keep you signed in.

If you register a business on JE Connects, we collect and display the details you publish, including:

• Business name, category and sub-category, description, logo and cover images, and gallery media.
• Physical address, service areas, GPS coordinates, contact details (phone, WhatsApp, email, website), and operating hours.
• Company registration and VAT numbers, where you choose to provide them.
• Products, services, pricing, stock and booking settings, and staff/branch information you manage.

Some of this information is published on your public business profile and is visible to other users and search engines.

• Orders: items, quantities, prices, delivery address and GPS, delivery notes, order status history, and totals.
• Bookings: the service or product booked, date, time, duration, customer contact, and booking status.
• Quotations: quote requests you submit, the details you share with businesses, and the quotes and messages exchanged.
• Payments: payment references, method, gateway used, amounts, fees, commission, payouts, refunds, and generated receipts and invoices. We do not store full card numbers — card data is handled by our payment partners.

• Messages: the content of chats and conversations you send through JE Connects in-app messaging, including marketplace, quote, and business threads.
• Reviews: ratings and written reviews you submit about businesses, products, or services.
• Media: photos, videos, and files you upload (product images, gallery items, Reels, driver documents, support attachments, etc.).
• Reels & social activity: content you post, likes, and view counts.

Content you publish may be visible to other users and, where relevant, to the public. Do not share information you would not want others to see.

• Device data: device type, operating system, browser, language, and screen size.
• Location: GPS coordinates when you enable location (for nearby businesses, ride pickup/drop-off, courier collection, and delivery tracking).
• Usage data: pages and features you use, search queries, interactions, and approximate journey through the platform.
• Technical logs: IP address, timestamps, and error/diagnostic logs used to keep the service secure and reliable.

JE Connects uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as theme), and understand how the platform is used. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information to third parties.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling them may affect some features, such as staying signed in between visits.

JE Connects offers Google Sign-In so you can create an account or sign in using your Google account. When you choose Google Sign-In, Google asks you to authorise JE Connects, and we receive basic information from your Google account to set up and run your JE Connects account.

Information we may receive from Google includes:

• Your Google account name (used as your JE Connects display name).
• Your Google account email address (used as your account email and for sign-in, notifications, and support).
• Your Google profile picture, if available (used as your JE Connects profile photo).
• A unique Google account identifier that lets us confirm your identity on future sign-ins.

How we use this information:

• To authenticate you and create or link your JE Connects account.
• To keep you signed in and recognise you across sessions and devices.
• To pre-fill your profile and send you account-related notifications.

We do not use Google Sign-In to post to Google on your behalf, read your emails, or access other Google services. You can revoke JE Connects' access at any time from your Google account security settings, and you can delete your JE Connects account from within the app. Your use of Google is also governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the marketplace and its features.
• Authenticate you, keep your account secure, and prevent fraud and abuse.
• Process orders, bookings, quotes, payments, refunds, and payouts.
• Match customers with businesses, drivers with ride and courier jobs, and job seekers with opportunities.
• Send you notifications, receipts, invoices, and service messages.
• Personalise and recommend content, businesses, and offers.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

• Between users: details you choose to share (e.g. your name and contact details with a business you order from or message).
• With businesses and drivers: the information needed to fulfil your orders, bookings, rides, and deliveries.
• With service providers: payment gateways, delivery, mapping, email, and analytics partners acting on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
• For legal reasons: where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of JE Connects and our users.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued protection under this policy.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and row-level security that limits who can read or change records. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond quickly to incidents.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Transaction, payment, and receipt records are typically kept for the period required by applicable tax and consumer-protection laws. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

You can delete your account at any time from within the JE Connects app (My Dashboard → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data from active use. Some records — such as completed transactions, receipts, invoices, and tax-relevant data — may be retained as described in the Data Retention section. Businesses and drivers can also request removal of their business or driver profile through support.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your information.
• Withdraw consent for processing that relied on consent (such as Google Sign-In).
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Help Centre in the app.

JE Connects works with trusted third parties to deliver the platform, including payment providers, mapping and geolocation services, email delivery, file storage, analytics, and authentication (including Google). These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security standards. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services. JE Connects is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services outside our control.

JE Connects is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us through the Help Centre and we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will provide a notice in the app or by other means. Your continued use of JE Connects after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.

If you have questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, you can reach the JE Connects team through the in-app Help Centre (the help button available throughout the platform). When you submit a privacy-related request, please include your account email and a short description so we can assist you.
